Bill's Bio

Bill Hargreaves is a 1972 graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law and was admitted to the California State Bar in December of 1972. Mr. Hargreaves received an advanced [LLM] degree in taxation law from USD Law School in 2000. He is the senior partner in the Family Law Firm of Hargreaves & Taylor. Mr. Hargreaves is a Family Law Specialist, first Certified by the State Bar of California in 1980. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers; former chair of the California State Bar Family Law Advisory Commission to the Board of Legal Specialization; and a former Vice President of the San Diego County Bar Association. Mr. Hargreaves is active in various Bar Association committees and frequently lectures locally and nationally on California Family Law topics. He has served as Chair of the County Lawyer Referral Service and served on the Family Law Specialists Executive Committee. Mr. Hargreaves has taken many complex divorce cases through trial and has extensive experience dealing with difficult financial issues, including those involving tracing and business valuation. In addition to his experience as a trial lawyer, he partners with Mary Mudd Quinn Ph.D. to provide Mediation Services for parties who are divorcing, negotiating post-Judgment support issues, or negotiating pre-nuptial agreements. The firm also has extensive experience in preparing and reviewing pre-nuptial and Domestic Partner agreements.
